The Story of the Bible

In this unit, you will have the opportunity to overview the whole Bible, looking at both the context and the content of Scripture. It will also help you to gain an overview of God’s working with people, and how you are a part of God’s story as it continues today.

 

This class is NOT lecture-style, but rather involves group discussion and activities.  There are 8 sessions, held fortnightly. The assessment for this unit is made up of reading, weekly homework questions and a final paper. The work is set at TAFE-level standard. This unit is 1 of 10 units required for completion of a Certificate IV in Christian Ministry.

 

This unit will be jointly facilitated by Pastor Steve Wright (Assistant Pastor of Pittwater Wesleyan Methodist Church) and Heidi Wright.

 

Time:   Saturday, 10am – 1pm

             May 3, 17, 31

Location: Hope Wesleyan Methodist Church

Textbooks: 1) Roberts, Vaughan. God’s Big Picture. IVP, 2003.

                    2) Dockery, David (Ed). The Holman Bible Handbook.Broadman and Holman, 1992.

Students need to have BOTH textbooks. They are available through Christian bookstores for approximately $13 and $35 respectively.
